This web-page contains a collection of classroom resources and activities for Japanese classes which have been created by The Japan Foundation, Sydney.Resources are aimed at 3levels (Primary, Junior Secondary, Senior Secondary) and you can find them quickly by using tags.

This site introduces the resource kit for teachers, ‘Art Speaks Japanese’. Based on 16 artworks from the permanent collection of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the resource enables learners from upper primary to senior secondary level to develop language skills while engaging with diverse forms of Japanese art.

IWB Resources - コンビニすごろく

“コンビニすごろく” is an Interactive Whiteboard resource which contains activities for learning and practicing vocabulary and expressions related to convenience stores in Japan, through the game of Sugoroku.

This is a support site for the 2 Disc DVD resource, which contains the film ‘Happy Family Plan’ and a second disc with entertaining mini lessons and quizzes. The site provides additional games and quizzes, and downloadable task sheets for teachers.

Japan in a Box – Cultural goods for loan
Japan in a Box brings Japanese culture out of the textbook with a range of items fun, hands on introduction to life in Japan for school students studying Japanese language and culture. Four kits are available for borrowing, each containing a variety of items from books to wigs related to its theme.
NSW HSC Drama Curriculum

From 2015-2017, Japanese Theatre will feature as an elective in the NSW HSC Drama curriculum. Attached are lists of DVDs and books in the Japan Foundation, Sydney Library on topics included in this elective – specifically, Bunraku, Kabuki, Noh and the Suzuki method of acting.
