The Japan Foundation, Sydney Library

The Japan Foundation, Sydney Library is a public lending library for people in Australia who are interested in Japan, Japanese culture and the language. The collection has now grown to more than 20,000 of print and audio-visual items.

Visitors are welcome to browse and study in the library as the majority of our collection is arranged in the open shelf area.

• Lending service for library members

• Loan reservation service for library members (the visitor library card excluded)

• Postal loan services for Japan Foundation, Sydney paid members

• Fulfilling Inter-library loan and document delivery requests forwarded from the Libraries Australia Document Delivery (LADD) scheme

• Arranging a document delivery (photocopy) with the source text available from the collections of the Japan Foundation libraries in Japan (HQ, Urawa and Kansai)

• Contributing bibliographic records to the Australian National Bibliographic Database (ANBD)

• Reference enquiry services

• Audio-visual booths and CD-ROM viewing station

• Colour photo copier
