Talk & Workshop

Learn “sitting-as-art” with artist Michael Garbutt.

The talk takes Japanese ukiyo-e master Hokusai's painting Boy Viewing Fuji as a point of departure and will delve into the concept of 'sitting-as-art' and contemplative drawing practices.

The workshop is a hands-on guide to seeing the world through Hokusai's eyes. It includes an introduction and practical exercises, held outdoors in Chippendale, to help participants search for their own Mount Fuji.
Please note: this talk will include images of traditional ukiyo-e prints depicting mature content.
