The Japan Foundation Sydney will be screening three free Ken Takakura films in March, a one-off special event as a part of the Japanese Film Festival.
Who is Ken Takakura?
According to IMDB, he is the ‘Clint Eastwood’ of Japan, known for his ‘brooding style’, ‘streetwise swagger’ and ‘tough guy persona’.
He is a veteran actor in Japanese cinema, appearing in more than 200 films from yakuza films to mainstream.
He has won numerous awards in his career, including several Japanese Academy Awards for Best Actor.
