I have been focusing on a mechanics of generating 'meaning',
emphasising the element of defamiliarisation to create
ironies, simultaneous double meanings. They investigate
the spaces across/between media and culture, mining the
slippages between that reveal the closures in language,
perception, the body and intercultural communication.
My main concern is to expose irregularities in a manner
that throws into question, if not crisis, the very authority
that closes fields, creates naming, categories and definitions,
and maintains master narratives whether they be in art,
culture, technology or ethnicity. |
