Japan Foundation Grants
 
The Japan Foundation Headquarters offers a diverse range of grant programmes worldwide, with the aim of deepening mutual understanding between Japan and other countries. The Japan Foundation, Sydney administers a number of these programmes, under the following categories:

Within each category, there are two types of grants Programmes available:
Head Office Grants” provided by our head office in Tokyo and “Local Grants” provided by us here in Sydney.

The Head Office Grant programmes run according to the Japanese fiscal year, which begins on 1 April and ends on 31 March the following year. Application forms and programme guidelines can be downloaded from this website from October/November. Deadline for application is generally December 1st the year prior to your scheduled project, however some grant applications have an early deadline of November 20th. Please be sure to check this deadline in the Programme Guidelines.

Local Grant programmes are administered all year round. Applications must be submitted no less than one month prior to the date of the scheduled project. Please note that the Arts and Culture Department do not administer Local Grants.
