How to Apply
 
How do the grant programs work?
 
The Japan Foundation grant programmes run according to the Japanese fiscal year, which begins on 1 April and ends on 31 March the following year. Application forms and programme guidelines can be downloaded from this website from October/November.
 
Who can apply?
 
Some programmes are open to individuals and some to organisations or institutions. In the case of individual grant applications, applicants must hold Australian citizenship or permanent residency status. There may be other restrictions, so please check the Programme Guidelines carefully before pursuing an application.
 
When and how can I apply?
 
The current round of applications is for projects or activities to be conducted during Fiscal 2012 - 2013 (1 April 2012 - 31 March 2013).

You should first obtain a copy of the Programme Guidelines and read them thoroughly. You can download a copy from this website by clicking the link below:

Please see the Programme Lists for detailed information of each programme available, and to download application forms.

Applications must reach our Sydney office before the deadline. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday 1 December 2010*.
 
*IMPORTANT: The Support Program for Translation and Publication on Japan and the Support Program for Documentary Production on Japan have an earlier deadline of Friday, 19 November 2010.
