Intermediate II Japanese Language Course
 

This is a one year course consisting of four terms of 10 weeks. On completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • understand the main ideas of complex input on both concrete and abstract topics related to Japanese culture
  • explain in detail issues relating to their own culture and make comparisons across cultures
  • put over a point of view in discussion with a degree of fluency, giving reasons and explanations for opinions, and advantages and disadvantages of various options 
    (based on JF-Standard for Japanese-Language Education B2).

Thursdays
Term 4: 13-Oct to 15-Dec, 2011 (10 lessons)
Time 6.00 pm - 8.00 pm (120 min. including 10 min. breaks)
Fee $300/per term (JF Sydney members: $290/per term)

Term 4, 2011
 
In Term 4, we will aim to cover Lessons 12, 13 and 15 of “TOBIRA – Gateway to Advanced Japanese “. The topics of the lessons are:
  • Lesson 12 : 日本の伝統工芸とテクノロジー
    Japanese traditional arts and crafts; their application to modern technology

  • Lesson 13 : 日本人と自然;自然を写す俳句、川柳
    Nature and the Japanese people; Haiku and Senryuu 

  • Lesson 15 : 世界と私の国の未来 
    The future of the world and my country

To be eligible for this course you must:
  • be able to read and write at least 500 kanji
  • have completed a post beginner level Japanese course such as JF Intermediate I Japanese course

You will also be required to pass a level check test provided by the Japan Foundation.
