Free Library Card provides you with basic lending service with no subscription fee. Residents of Australia at the age of 18 and older can apply.
Minors between the age of 15 and 17 also can apply for the card with a guarantor’s approval.
You will need to present a proof of your name and current residential address. |

Borrowing terms: |
- The cardholders may borrow 5 items at any one time over a period of 3 weeks time;
- In-person loan only;
- There is a loan restriction applied to Junior cardholders for age-restricted items.

| Join the JPF-Sydney Membership |
With this paid membership of an annual charge of $25 membership fee, you will receive extended library-borrowing privileges including mail loan service.
Other membership benefits include invitations to JPF-Sydney events (some member-exclusive) and discounts on fee-based events/courses. |

- JPF-Sydney members may borrow 10 items at any one time over a period of 5 weeks time;
- A national-wide registered mail loan service is provided upon a written request.

| Request an Inter-Library Loan from a public or university library |
Japan Foundation, Sydney is a member of the Libraries Australia network, and willing to supply our resources to other member libraries in Australia and New Zealand.
You need not to sign up with JPF-Sydney for this process, and this is a more suitable option in terms of cost-effectiveness if you are entitled to free use of Inter-Library Loan (typically entitled to university faculty staff) or you need to borrow our resources for one-time only. |

| Borrowing terms: |
- There is no limit on the number of loan items, and the loan period is for 5 weeks;
- A minimal supply fee of $13.20 (may increase depending on the mailing cost) will be billed to the requesting library. It is up to the requesting library’s policy whether the fee is passed to the requesting patron.
