The Japan Foundation, Sydney is offering exciting excursion options for groups of students learning Japanese language/culture. Please note centre visits are only available on weekdays. Times are flexible.
These are the centre visit packages for 2010

A. Film Screening Only – (anytime between 9.30am -5.00pm) |

Students can take in a morning screening of a popular Japanese film in the Japan Foundation, Sydney multipurpose room.

B. Film Screening + 1 hour Japanese language/culture lesson |
(film starts from 9.30am, language/culture lesson starts from 11.00am)
The Japan Foundation, Sydney language consultants can conduct a language and/or culture lesson tailored to your students’ proficiency level. This 1 hour session can be planned based on a request from the teacher on a specific topic or grammar point. Optionally, a more general language lesson can be provided where students can enjoy language learning through enjoyable game activities.

C. Options |
| Obento lunch order |
| Students can enjoy an authentic Japanese style lunch in the nearby Botanical Gardens on route to the NSW Art Gallery. These delicious obento boxes are reasonably priced at around $7.00 each. Teachers who would like to place an order for their group will be emailed an order form, including prices, to complete and return. The Japan Foundation will organise and arrange delivery. Cash payment is required on the day of your visit. |

| NSW Art Gallery Visit – (we recommend groups visit the gallery in the afternoon) |

The Art Gallery of New South Wales houses a permanent Japanese collection including works featured in the resource kit for Japanese language learners, Art Speaks Japanese. Teachers are invited to take their students to the Gallery, which is about a 15minute stroll from the Japan Foundation office, to view the exquisite works. Entry to the Asian collection is free of charge.

| Alternatively the Art Gallery of New South Wales conducts guided tours for school groups. Tours take 1 hour and a charge applies. Further information and booking forms are available here: |

| Nihongo Tanken Centre |
| For groups travelling to Sydney to experience Japanese culture a two day excursion option is available. As above groups can participate in a one day excursion at the Japan Foundation, Sydney. On the second day we recommend a visit to the Nihongo Tanken Centre where students are immersed in Japanese culture for the day. For more information please visit the website below. Bookings should be made directly with the Tanken Centre. Please note excursion fees apply. |
