The Japan Foundation Japanese-Language Institute, Urawa, has developed a DVD teaching resource, エリンが挑戦！にほんごできます。 “Erin’s Challenge! I Can Speak Japanese.” The material revolves around skits (language study mini-dramas) showing Erin, an exchange student at a senior high school in Japan, in everyday situations. The material targets young learners, using the DVD to make the study of beginning Japanese fun. In addition to language study, the material is designed to help learners develop an attitude conducive to cultural understanding.
