When I arrived in Newcastle, I realized there aren’t many Japanese people, but there are many friendly people, and a lot of nature. It didn’t take long to like Newcastle.
Since coming to Newcastle, I haven’t become homesick at all as there are goof teachers, students and many friendly people. It has been interesting for me to learn different things (about school, people, living, etc.) and to make new discoveries.
I have worked at two schools as a young Japanese Teacher. I was sometimes confused about what to do for the kids, and thought “What should I do?” “What’s my role?” etc… however, the non-native teachers I worked with are very nice and professional, so they always supported me. I was also able to learn many things from teachers, and enjoy a cultural exchange. I was really lucky to work with theme which made me happy, and they are interested iin Japanese culture and language. Some students are really motivated to do their work and worked hard. They helped me with various things, and I have great memories with them.
I was so glad to be in Newcastle, meet them and work as a Young Japanese Teacher in two schools. It was a very good life experience. I appreciate everyone who supported me. Thank you so much for everything. I enjoyed a great time in Australia. |
