Concert and CD launch by Satsuki Odamura with Waratah

Koto virtuoso, Satsuki Odamura, will hold a concert to officially launch her third CD, Koto Dreaming.

Koto Dreaming is a collection of innovative and unique compositions for the Japanese koto; a synthesis of inspirations gained over Satsuki’s seventeen years experience in Australia.

The album begins with a work commissioned by celebrated Australian composer Ross Edwards and includes pieces by composers Caroline Szeto, Anthony Briggs, Linsey Pollak, as well as Satsuki herself, in collaboration with Sandy Evans and Tony Lewis – who together comprise the trio Waratah.

Winner of the Australian World Music Awards 2000, World Music Instrumentalist of the Year and two Sounds Australian Awards for Most Distinguished Contribution to the presentation of Australian Music by an individual.
