A perfect match...

Opening Facetnate! will be Leanne and Naomi Shedlezki's People to People, Place to Place: Australia-Japan. Leanne and Naomi are a collaborative artist duo from Sydney, Australia, who like the Japan Foundation, are passionate about cultural exchange through the arts.

Over the past two years, Leanne and Naomi have been creating The Match Box Projects - an evolving series of portable art exhibitions and exchanges taking place in Australia and Japan. Travelling through both countries, they have invited Australian and Japanese artists, designers and curators to take part in cultural exchange activities and create small-scale works for their projects. These works are being transported and installed in various venues in hand-held transparent cases known as 'Match Box Galleries'.

People to People, Place to Place: Australia-Japan presents Match Box Galleries featuring the works of more than 70 Australian and Japanese artists, designers, and curators partaking in the Australia Japan Match Box Projects as well as a photographic installation of the Match Box Galleries' 2006-8 journey through Australia and Japan.
