Based on a true story, this is the account of Sadako Sasaki, a survivor of the atomic bomb that struck Hiroshima in 1945. Sadako was an avid athlete with a constant cheerful disposition. However during the sixth grade, she falls victim to leukaemia as an aftermath of the A-bomb, changing her life forever.
