Koharu is a beautiful, young candy seller who dreams of becoming an actress. But she lacks one important element: talent. One day, she meets film director Ogura who sees her potential and hires her for minor roles to glean experience. Her big break comes when she replaces the star of a major production. All goes well until the final take involving a romantic scene where she fails to play her role convincingly.
